This is a full time position in the Center for Shelter Dogs which will play a key role in facilitating research efforts by assisting the Research Director through entering data into statistical packages, helping to analyze data and implementing research projects. This position requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with experimental methods, experience with managing and analyzing multiple data sets, as well as experience with data analysis using statistical software and advanced computer skills. Reporting to the Research Director, the candidate must also be able to search the published literature in animal behavior and welfare. Candidates must have a minimum of a BS or equivalent, demonstrated skills in data collection and analysis, and familiarity with the research process. Expertise in one statistical software package is essential, SPSS preferred. Excellent written communication skills required and experience working with shelter dogs preferred. Successful candidates must have an open, positive attitude and enjoy working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment where a diversity of opinion is valued and encouraged.
