Position Description:
Provides anatomical pathology services to the hospital and participates in the training of residents and interns, and conducts research within the guidelines of The Animal Medical Center.
Responsibilities:
* Provides pathology services (necropsy, surgical biopsy, etc.) on a rotating schedule and provides detailed pathology reports in a timely fashion
* Participates in pathology resident training by supervision of residents as needed on necropsy and biopsy services, by periodically conducting rounds and seminars, and by mentoring individual residents when necessary
* Participates in training of non-pathology residents and interns by conducting and/or participating in rounds and seminars as needed
* Participates in hospital (clinical staff, resident projects, etc.) research projects as needed by providing pathology support
* Pursues scholarly activities with the goal of significant publications in quality journals. A minimum of one publication during a 2-year fellowship is expected.
* With other members of the pathology department, participates in development of new tests and strategies to improve services
