Small-dog

Animal Care and Adoption Agent (Boston branch) Boston, MA United States

Link Animal Rescue League of Boston

We’re looking for hardworking, compassionate, detailed-oriented individuals who enjoy helping people as well as animals. Members of our dedicated animal care team provide the attention and affection needed to rehabilitate and adopt unwanted, neglected and abused animals into loving homes. Our philosophy is that cleaning and sanitation are the foundation of proper animal care, but the job extends beyond that as you will help see these animals through the shelter process. You will be a key player in implementing our state-of-the art preventive medicine program, and will help ensure that the unique needs of each animal are met through proper diet, socialization, grooming, and veterinary care.

Through our in-house educational opportunities delivered by veterinary experts in medicine and animal behavior, our staff develops skills in behavior assessment, physical examination, dog training, environmental enrichment, and basic veterinary medical technology. We are committed to enhancing these skills through continuing education at national conferences. Developing special interests (eg, behavior, exotic animal care, community outreach) are encouraged. Opportunities are available to be certified in technical animal rescue skills such as ice rescue so that you can be called upon to assist our animal rescue specialists on individual cases or be deployed to help in large-scale disasters. Valid driver’s license necessary. Work schedule will include weekend hours/holidays. Previous animal care experience preferred.
